I'm starting to think in patches, which should come in handy as I spend this year making collage for the duo show this coming November. I'm also thinking about very simple pieces with 3 or 4 stitched up like crazy....we'll see. I'll post all here. Happy New Year!
I nearly didn't get any of the Bearden PO stamps because my friend Gretchen (the Queen of Collage) swooped down on my post office and snatched all but the display set. How she forgot that I'll never know but they were mine. This one includes some parts from an exhibition catatlog too, but all in B&W so I didn't feel bad cutting it up. Bearden's work is spectacular so I'm glad his image floated my way.
To dear Salvador, such a horn tooter, his gift for combining unlikely images is a godsend for artistic inspiration. Besides, the image was part of and empty box of cards and the gods of reuse, renew and recycle were whispering in my ear. So, he's pretty fishy, but here he is!
Late in December, some Christmas luck picked fresh today after my morning walk. There was snow on these but I couldn't catch that. I'm getting pretty good at spotting these amongst all the 3-leafed varieties.
.....and page 2 from the gifted journal with the paper-bag pages. Dog news and such. The new pups have no respect for our old lady dog, she's the last of the old guard and all her friends at the lake have passed on.
