I started a new art journal and just let things rip. Love ballpoint pen, it's my drawing implement of choice. Every now and then it's a good thing to be entirely motivated by whatever occurs. Collage: photos, painted papers, watercolor, ballpoint pen.
Collage, marker, photo, chine colle, colored pencil. Family photo of neighbors? Friends? The umbrella intrigued me. The brown at bottom is part of a road atlas of my father's early territory, hence Sunnybrook Rd. This spring we went on a trip with Father to a local butcher and since that was close to his old stomping grounds took a trip down obscure roads and found great and great-great grandparent's farms. Sometime after that I convinced Dad to mark all the landmarks we saw on a map, otherwise, who would remember all that? This is a visual remembrance of that process.
