Friday night was a big party, Katina and I finished up posting our names and titles earlier in the day and these are the photos of the event:
The Narrative Child above. All stories from childhood.
The Blue of UnBe
Collage with thread and paper strips.
Katina's apron made of metal screen.
Katina's steel relief and my linked collage.
Collage linked with fiber, tulle and other fabric.
The Romance Narrative.
My collage and Katina's painting.
Card, pictures from a lifetime ago (Katina and I graduated from HS together and were in art classes there together as well) and statement. All designed and printed out by Katina.
Friends in the gallery.
Annette, Cyntha, Mary, me and Katina. All graduates of (gasp) 1967 Stow High School. It was good to see them. The photo is blurred but that's kind of a good thing! Does anyone wonder why my work addresses time?
Back from the lake, it's pretty much peak there but the black walnut that Larry planted from seed has lost some leaves and doesn't have high color. More shots of the lake tomorrow. And some art soon as well.
The writing on the photograph from an anonymous family says "Judy and the Squash" and so it is, Judy is perky in a large squash patch. Red balls fall through the air, Louise's colors are threaded throughout and the text in the background is from an index of towns all dogs have traveled. This is the way I process. I have 1 more doggish entry in the pipeline that I almost completed yesterday at a collage workshop in Bay Village that I taught in tandem with Gretchen Bierbaum. Well, almost in tandem, I did yesterday and she's doing today. More art coming soon.
With apologies to Charlotte....this gal could've defended her pig friend with an axe. Top leg to bottom leg she must be 3 inches long. I've seen them before at the lake where the spiders own everything but never at home until today. Apparently she's a golden orb spider and they are quite common, but really impressive.
