The Hudson Library and Historical Society Watson-Ewell-Currin Gallery will feature the works of Alexander Aitken from October 4, 2011 through the end of November. You can meet the artist at a reception in the Gallery from1:00 to4:00 PM on Sunday, October 16th.
Al Aitken’s Trees/Forest series consists of composite photo (inkjet prints) glued together to give an impression of a forest. He has won awards with collages from this series in the annual Ohio Collage Society Exhibits and also many National Collage Society international juried exhibits. He was an award winner in the FAVA six-state photography show in Oberlin and participated in many May Shows at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
Aitken has an MFA in print making from Ohio University and he is an instructor of fine art photography at Case Western Reserve University. Formerly, he was an instructor at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
He has work is in the Permanent Collection at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
