Critique Pics......

A small but lively group met on Saturday at Summit ArtSpace to discuss and critique collage candidates for the upcoming NCS show, "Wish You Were Here" postcard-size art. Entries need to be mailed no later than June 11th for inclusion in this national exhibit and all NCS member's work is accepted. Regardless, the artists who met for the critique were interested in hearing what their peers had to say about selections for this show at The Mansfield Art Center. Since their were fewer members we also discussed our collage histories, which would be too long to include here, so you'll just have to enjoy the pictures....

 

Not to mention, we got to peruse Gretchen's book.

April, On the Road and a Coronation

Summit ArtSpace hosted their annual "Fresh" exhibit opening on 4/30 and that was the scene for the official NCS induction of Christine Paringer as NCS Vice-President. Christine keeps herself very busy and active in the art scene as vice-president of OCS, docent at Akron Art Museum and program chair for Women's Art League as well. In this picture, Gretchen Bierbaum bestows the official tiara ring on the new vice-president. Between these two is Chris's collage entry into the show.

And in Tiffin Ohio, our future exhibit site for the member's show in October. Chris and I visited there to iron out details some 2 weeks ago. It's a beautiful venue for collage.

If you haven't joined OCS be aware that I finally purged the membership and will be emailing only those who are presently paid up members. If you're interested in joining, the next opportunity to "re-up" with the whole year ahead of you will be in October.
